The National Council for Women of Kenya (NCWK) has been involved in the political, economic and social empowerment of women since it was formed in 1964. Many of the women leaders who have made a mark in the political leadership of women have done through the support they have received from National Council for Women of Kenya (NCWK). National Council for Women of Kenya(NCWK) has Empowered Dr. Eddah Gachukia, Dr Phoebe Asiyo, Ms. Margaret Kenyatta, Professor Wangari Maathai, Mrs. Rose Waruhiu to mention just a few. National Council for Women of Kenya (NCWK) is therefore, in keeping with her mandate monitored women aspirants for 2007 General Elections.
